1. Mount Vernon's Spring Wine Festival

Where: Mount Vernon | Alexandria, VA 

When:  Friday May 17th- Sunday May 19th

Mount Vernon’s annual spring soiree includes tours of the property’s mansion and cellar, appearances by “George and Martha Washington” and live jazz on a beautiful lawn overlooking the Potomac River. You can also sample more than 20 Virginia wines, and a fruit and cheese box is available for purchase to pair with your sips.

2. Quarter Fest

Where: Ballston | Arlington, VA 

When:  May 18th-May 19th

Arlington’s biggest block party is taking over Wilson Boulevard for the weekend with live music, local food, and a pop-up street pub. Free outdoor concerts by local performers will take place all weekend long on the sound stage. A 100-foot street pub will pop-up for the weekend, serving beer, wine, and cocktails. On Saturday, there’s a food crawl that will let you explore the neighborhood’s best restaurants. On Sunday, food trucks roll into Ballston for the day.

3. DC Bike Ride

Where: Washington DC

When: Saturday May 18th | 8am-12:30 pm

This celebration of biking in DC, now in its fourth year, is a closed-roads, car-free, 20-mile bike ride through the District. Bicyclists ages 3 and up will have the opportunity to pedal past some of the capital’s most iconic sites with the city’s two-wheelin’ community. End up at a Finish Festival in front of the U.S. Capitol with beats, eats, and fun activities for all ages. Participating is easier than ever this year for riders and families. Now, riders can rent bikes on-site for only $12, thanks to a partnership with Unlimited Biking — they can pick-up and drop-off their bike at the event finish line for a seamless experience, and youth pricing is available for young riders.

4. Nats Vs. Cubs 

Where: Nats Park | Washington, DC 

When: Sunday May 17th-19th

The Nats are hosting the Cubs this weekend, with evening games on Friday and Saturday, and an afternoon match-up in Sunday that will make for a great family outing. It’s Youth Baseball and Softball Day (special tickets required), plus kids ages 12 and under they can run the bases after the game. B

5. McLean Day

Where: Lewinsville Park | McLean, VA

When:  Friday May 17th- Saturday May 18th

McLean’s annual festival to celebrate the city has something for everyone in the fam. Enjoy carnival rides, food trucks, live entertainment, a petting zoo, exhibitor booths, free field games, a rock climbing wall, Bubble Ball, laser tag, balloon animals, and more that will delight all ages.
